FLESHBOT WAYBACK REVIEW OF BOBBY SOX – Fleshbot.com reached back nearly 20 years this week for a review of the famous Vivid movie Bobby Sox. The headline on the Fleshbot story by Holly Kingstown read: Monster Porno Was A Monster Hit.” The Throwback Thursday article went on to say, “Bobby Sox was the smash hit of 1997 and it still is one incredible movie. Directed by one of porn's true but tormented geniuses Paul Thomas, it made the list of AVN's 500 Greatest Films in 2005 and at the 1997 AVN Awards, it won awards for Best Director to Thomas, Best Screenplay to writer Raven Touchstone, Best Editing, Best Film, Best Actor to Jamie Gillis in his role of a drunk, heart of gold movie producer (man, I miss him so much) and Best Actress to Shanna McCullough. Nikki Tyler was the Vivid Girl who headlined this tale of the making of a monster movie in a small town, where they cast locals to find a big star and help McCullough's struggling movie theater. Tyler and Jenna Jameson were in a long-term relationship way back in the day and watching her in this, you an really get a sense for what Tyler had going on. So much beauty and wow, she loved to f*ck. Jon Dough is in this cast--wow, I miss him so much and he deserved a lot better than the way that he ended his life. I really can't recommend watching this one enough. It's got amazing players in f*cking hot sex scenes. Man, it makes me happy.”
COURTNEY STODDEN A HIT AT COMIC CON – Courtney Stodden was a sensation this year at ComicCon, with plenty of mentions of Vivid’s Courtney Uncovered movie in articles about her appearances. TooFab.com captured the essence of her presence with this article about the “Biggest Moments” at the convention: “Courtney Stodden's Nearly-Nude Cosplay -- Teen bride-turned Vivid sex tape star Courtney Stodden had all eyes on her outside the convention center over the weekend, showing up in pasties, a thong and body paint to promote her relationship with PETA. The Internet star was "dressed" as Captain Marvel for the event, telling toofab she decided on this look because she's a ‘fun blonde,’ adding, ‘We feel like it was the best way to grab attention.’ And she's right!”
SHORTANDSWEETNYC GIVES VIVID CABARET ANOTHER RAVE REVIEW – Short and Sweet writer Ralph Greco is a big fan of Vivid Cabaret in New York City. He’s just posted a new review of the club as part of THE SEX FILES: Summer Series, ‘Up On The Rooftop’ at Vivid, Part 2. Greco opens his article: “’I overdid it at the beach and got a bad sunburn, so I took a few days off from dancing. When I came back to the club, it was just in time for this great cigar party on the roof deck,’ Kimmie relates. She is one of the gorgeous strippers at Vivid Cabaret NYC and the perfect person to give us a behind-the-scenes (or more precisely an ‘up on high’) view of what’s happening at the upscale cabaret. Continuing my series “Up On The Rooftop” from the upscale gentleman’s cabaret at 61 W 37th street, I wanted to get the skinny from one of the wonderful women who work at Vivid Cabaret NYC to tell us more about the unique rooftop there. As you will recall from my piece from a few weeks ago, I gave you my impression of the outside top floor lounge of the club, but hearing what the rooftop lounge and the club itself is like from a woman like Kimmie is certainly more interesting. \I was drinking champagne with a bunch of celebrities, but I can’t tell you their names, because we respect everyone’s privacy,’ Like everybody else at the club, Kimmie is super friendly. Of course she doesn’t just restrict herself to the night time summer air (or winter, as the rooftop has heaters so it is open year round) of the uppermost area of Vivid’s club. As Kimmie says of one of the cabaret’s most interesting features: ‘I love the pole at Vivid Cabaret. It’s the tallest stripper pole in New York. Right now, I can only make it up half-way, but I’m taking a pole dancing class and by the end of the summer I’ll have licked all my fears and I’ll be up there on top. Then she adds with a wicked smile and wink: ‘I hope all the shortandsweetnyc readers will come see me.’ With its 3 floors, HD TV’sa, 4 stages and that infamous 25 foot pole, Vivid Cabaret NYC is a top destination for those celebs Kimmie will not mention, as well as anybody looking for a good time. In fact, the club is so well respected that new girls come in all the time to dance there, become experts on the poll, party on the roof, just absorb the whole Vivid vibe.”
